Steve was posthumously inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2016.

High School Honors

• 9 letters: football, basketball, baseball
• Named to Scotty Orcutt-Cornie Collin All-Star game
• Football - named All-State and All-Metro both junior and senior years
• Baseball - named All-State and All-Metro both junior and senior years

• Attended UNO and then Northwest Missouri; Senior year 1st team NAIA All American
• Drafted by Cleveland Browns 7th round
• Career ended due to auto accident with broken leg and rib
• Owner of drywall company in Green River, WY
• Passed away in 2008
