Cheryl was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 1998.
Cheryl Wild has been giving of herself to community and charitable causes for over 25 years as a leader, as a fundraiser and as a worker. Mrs. Wild is called "an amazing woman" by Dr. Liz Karnes who also says "she cares deeply about every single person she meets, and she gives unselfishly of herself to many organizations and causes through hard work, dedication, energy and philanthropy. She has touched thousand of people." Mrs. Wild has been a member of the boards of The Child Savings Institute, Omaha Children's Museum, Act II of the Omaha Community Playhouse, the Omaha Theatre Company for Young People and The South High Alumni Association. Her fundraising for charities includes the American Red Cross, Children's Hospital, Clarkson Hospital, the Diabetes Association, Leukemia Foundation and Humane Society among many other organizations and charities. Mrs. Wild has also worked with religious and social service agencies, including Christ Community Church, the Open Door Mission, Madonna School and Sacred Heart School. She has also served on the Parent Advisory Committee of the Millard Public Schools and as an active parent at Millard North High School. Her contributions are unending. She is the daughter of South High coaching legend, Micky Sparano. |
