Phyllis was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2013.

Phyllis (Radik) Jirka excelled in trapshooting throughout her lifetime.  While attending SHS, she learned to trapshoot after school, on weekends and on team squad shooting (since OPS does not offer trapshooting as a sanctioned sport).  She was State Ladies Singles Champion for five years. 

Phyllis spent 20 years as a team member of the Nebraska All-State Trapshooting Team; serving as Captain for four years, and one year as a team member of the ATA Women’s All-American team.  She was inducted into the Nebraska Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 2002 and named All American by the National Trapshooting Association.  She earned numerous awards and titles and has received many certificates of recognition and merit, trophies and award patches throughout her lifetime.
