Rita was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 2009.
Rita and Rudy are the founders of Stoysich House of Sausage, with two locations in Omaha, Nebraska. Rita and Rudy were married in 1948. In 1961 they decided to go into the sausage and meat business in South Omaha and have worked side by side 24/7 producing internationally known sausage of superlative quality and excellence. They volunteered to travel all over Europe to teach the business of sausage making. Rita Stoysich recipes have been featured in national publications and she has been voted "Best Cook Ever" by H.C.G. Group (husband, children and grandchildren)! They have both been active members of St. Stanislaus Church; both have been honored by the Volunteer Overseas Cooperative (a state department agency); the Spirit of America Award from the Grocers Association; the Golden Spike Award; and the MBJ Small Business Award in 1989. |
