Lynda was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 2024.
Lynda graduated from South in 1971. She says that she has always been a proud graduate of South High. The two teachers that had the most influence on her were Dr Edward Kuncel for making her believe that she was always capable of doing more; and Mr. Roland Hinrichs who, by example, always showed her to give the best that she could. Lynda was also a senior class officer and has worked on numerous class reunions. Lynda earned an associate degree in dental technology from MCC and completed Praesidium Academy courses in abuse prevention. Lynda served as Editor, Associate Publisher and then Publisher of the Daily Record legal newspaper. Lynda’s career accomplishments include President of the local chapter of American Business Women’s Association (ABWA); President of the Omaha Legal Professionals Association (OLPA) and the Nebraska Legal Professionals Association (NLPA). Her contributions to the community include being a member of the Kiwanis Club since 2000, becoming Governor of the organization for Nebraska-Iowa 2022-2023. Prior to becoming governor, she served as NE-IA K-Kids Administrator, Key Club Advisor, Key Leader Administrator and is currently Aktion Club Administrator (adults with disabilities). She is also a member of 25+ Kiwanians Who Care, which makes quarterly contributions to child-serving non-profit organizations and Greater Missouri Valley Kiwanis which focuses on youth programs for area schools. Lynda has two children and two grandchildren. |
