Charles was inducted into the Packer Sports Greats in 2010.

Charles Martinez played football (All-City 1948), basketball and track.  He also played baseball and softball until he retired at age 55.  He was inducted into the Omaha Mexican-American Softball Hall of Fame and the Kansas City Softball Hall of Fame.  He served as a coach for youth athletic teams including softball and basketball for many years.  Charles was a member of the Omaha Police Department for 28 years.
