Stan Maliszewski was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 2007.
Stan is a Clinical Associate Professor in the University of Arizona in Tucson school counseling program. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) in 1968; his MS in School Counseling from California State University at Fullerton in 1972, and another MS in School Administration in 1977 from UNO; and his Doctor of Philosophy in Human Resource Management from UNL in 1985. After starting his teaching career in California, he returned to the Omaha School District to begin his counseling career. During his OPS tenure he authored several articles and was selected Outstanding School Counselor and Outstanding Administrator by the Nebraska State Counseling Association. He served as a national consultant and has made presentations regarding counseling and guidance, receiving the College Board Mid-Western Regional Distinguished Service Award in 1996. He retired from OPS in 2000 and is recognized nationally as an authority on competency-based guidance. He trains school counselors to work with Native Americans, and is a graduate advisor for a Master's program in Equine Assisted Mental Health Counseling at Prescott College in Arizona. |
