Manny was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2017.
Originally from Quadalajara, Mexico, Manny grew up playing club soccer in his hometown. He came to the USA when he was 8 years old and continued playing club soccer in Omaha with the Chivas FC. He played for the Azzuri Earthquakes. Then when in high school he played club soccer for the OFC Veleno. They won State Cup Tournaments back to back and also went to the regional USA Youth Soccer Tournament. He played for all four years for SHS under Coach Maass. During high school, he earned the following honors. He earned first Team and All-State honors as both a junior and a senior. He scored 12 goals with nine assists as a senior. He was named the Class ‘A’ State Captain his senior year, and was a Shrine Bowl MVP. In 2011, Manny begin his collegiate soccer career at Bellevue University where he appeared in 17 matches with 13 starts. During his junior year, Manny earned first team All-MCAC honors, led the team in goals (8), points (21), and shots on goal (22), and ranked second on the team with five assists and 37 shots. During the 2014 season, Manny was first team All-MCAC selection for the second consecutive season, NAIA Honorable Mention and started in 19 matches. Manny has also played club soccer with Chivitas, Viva FC and Nebraska FC. In 2020, Manny signed to play with Union Omaha Soccer Club (an American professional soccer team that was formed in 2019). |
