Kevin Kottich was honored with the Merit Award at the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats ceremony in 2023.
While at South Kevin was on the varsity wrestling team his sophomore through senior year. He was a state qualifier and medalist his senior year. He also played football and holds the individual South record for career tackles (353). After graduating South in 1977, Kevin attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha and earned his bachelor's degree in education. That led him into a long career of teaching and coaching at schools across the metro: Bryan High School, Bryan Middle School, Elkhorn High School, St Joe High School, Holy Cross School, Monroe Middle School, Benson High School and Central High School. He taught physical education and coached wrestling. Coaching achievements include: 2007-2008 Metro Coach of the Year and 2014 NSWCA McIntyre/Wattnem Merit Award. Kevin is currently retired and living a new adventure every day! |
