​Inducted in 2016

Roland was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 2016. 

A special Lifetime Music Ambassador Award honoring SHS’s Music Man, Mr. Roland Hinrichs, was accepted by his wife, Janet.

​Mr. Hinrichs epitomized vocal music at SHS from 1954 to 1984. Christmas presentations and musicals were polished productions under his guidance. In 1963 he established the Ambassadors, an outstanding choral group which performed throughout the community. He touched many students’ lives and enriched the entire music scene during his tenure as music director at SHS.

​Roland passed away in 2012.
