JON HAYES

Class of 1981
​Inducted in 2018

Jon was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2018.

He was named to the all-metro, all-state football teams in 1980.  He was named the all-metro lineman of the year in 1980.  He competed in the NE Shrine Bowl in 1981.  He was named to the 2nd team all-metro and 2nd team all-state basketball teams in 1981.
 
He attended UNL on a football scholarship in 1981, transferring to East Washington in 1983.  He then transferred to Dana College in Blair, NE where he played basketball from 1984-1986.  He was named to the all-conference team while at Dana.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University in 2005. 
 
Jonathan worked for Cox Communications for 15 years, 12 as a manager.  He currently works for Stern Oil as a warehouse manager/driver. 
 
Jonathan has been a youth football and high school football referee for five years.  He also coached his son’s youth basketball team.
