Leonard was inducted into the Packer Sports Greats in 2009.
Leonard Glica transferred from Creighton Prep, lettering in baseball for two years and being selected as All-City three years. He played ball with the Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Club for two years until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1950. The U.S. Army notified the Glica Family that Leonard, age 23, had been killed in action on Memorial Day 5-26-1951 in South Korea. He was awarded the Purple Heart. |
