Kari was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2016.

High School Honors

• 13 letters: cross-country, track, swim, pompom
• Won the 800m and 1600m in track, including Metro and District Championships
• Numerous victories at State - winning medals in the 800m and the 1600m in 1988 and 1989
• Holds the school record in the 800m, the 1600m, and the 4x800 relay
• Involved with International Sports Exchange - ran races in Switzerland & Germany senior year
   

Post High School

• Attended Drake University and graduated from UNO with a B.S.  Continued college at the College of St. Mary’s for teaching
• Stay at home mom for her 5 kids, volunteers at school and for PTA
• Event Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Midtown
