Joe was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2018.
He was named to the all-metro baseball team in 1980 and 1981, and the 2nd team all-state baseball team in 1981. His senior year he was named to the Scotty Orcutt-Cornie Collin All Star game. Joe still holds the South American Legion record for batting average of .44C. Joe attended Bellevue University on a baseball scholarship. He was named all-conference in every year from 1982 to 1985. He was named to the NAIA District XI First Team in 1985. He led Bellevue University in batting average, doubles and triples. He was named Bellevue University's Athlete of the Year for 1984-1985. He lettered all four years. He also competed in the semi-pro All American League championship team for 1989. Joe has worked for Physicians Mutual, being named as the Recruiter of the Year in 2015. He currently works as a corporate recruiter. Joe has also been active in youth sports. He coached Holy Ghost Church CYO baseball team and won the CYO championship in 2005. He also volunteers as a member of the Holy Ghost Men’s Club. |
