Class of 1954
Inducted in 2003 |
Nancy was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 2003.
Nancy Kratky retired from teaching about 10 years ago after more than 33 years in the classroom. She decided that her work was not yet complete and she threw her energy into becoming an elected member of the OPS Board of Education. She has continued her work for the students of Omaha and greater Nebraska as a two-term president of the Metro Area Boards of Education, the Nebraska Department of Education Safe School Steering Committee and the High Ability Learner Education Committee. In her third term as a member of the Board of Education, she serves as chair and co-chair of the Student and Community Services Committee and the Curriculum, Americanism, Research and Evaluation Committee. In addition to her work with the school board, Mrs. Kratky also works with the Assistance League of Omaha, the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Board of Directors, and Evaluation Council. She says that her education at SHS served her well and prepared her for her next educational endeavors. |
