Kenneth was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 1990.
Kenneth Fisher is Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Encore Computer Corporation, which he founded in 1983. Encore has developed a new computer architecture that delivers dramatic increases in price-performance for a broad range of computer applications. Mr. Fisher has nearly 30 years experience in the high technology industry.
He was formerly President, CEO, and Director of Prime Computer, Inc., having resigned that position in 1981. Mr. Fisher joined Prime in 1975, and in six years brought the company from $7 million in sales and 150 employees to $365 million in sales and 4,500 employees in 1981. During this time, manufacturing floor space increased from approximately 30,000 square feet to over 1 million square feet. In 1980, Prime Computer ranked number one in stock appreciation on the New York Stock Exchange when it's share price nearly tripled. During his six-year tenure, Prime's share price grew 126 times at the 1981 high, reached shortly before his resignation.
Before joining Prime Computer, Mr. Fisher was associated with Honeywell Information Systems, where he served as Vice President of Central Operations. Prior to that, he was with General Electric's computer operations for ten years, where he held a number of marketing positions.
Mr. Fisher serves on various boards and committees at several colleges and universities including the University of Nebraska, University of Chicago, Harvard Medical School, and Babson College, as well as at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
