Bill was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2023.

High School Honors

• Baseball (4 letters):
  • All Division – junior and senior years
  • 2nd team All State – Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star
  • Played in Collin-Orcutt All Star game with Cornie Collin’s team
  • Per Coach Stella, Bill played in the most American Legion games in school history
  • Won Districts in 1985 and 1987 and represented South High at the State baseball tournament
• Basketball (3 letters):
  • Honorable Mention All Division
• Tennis (2 letters)
• Football (1 letter)

Post High School

• Played baseball at Iowa Western Community College, Colorado State University and University of Nebraska-Omaha
• At IWCC we went to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, CO 1989. Finished 6th in the Country
• Earned his Business Management Degree at UNO
• Retired as a Sergeant after 21 years with the Omaha Police Department
• Bill has been a high school/American Legion and youth baseball coach for years
  • To name a few: Ralston American Legion 1993-1997; South in 1999; Creighton Prep from 2003-2008; Junior Cougars from 2022-present
• Bill and his wife Amanda have three children.
