​Chuck was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2012.

Chuck was a member of the SHS State Champion Gymnastics Team in 1976 and 1977.  He won 5th place for All Around, 3rd place for Pommel Horse, 4th place for Vault, and 4th place for Parallel Bars at the 1977 State Meet.  He won a scholarship as an athlete for the UNL Men’s Gymnastics Team (1978-82).  The team won the NCAA Championship in 1979, 1980 and 1981. 

He was a member of the USA National Gymnastics team (1981 and 1982), and of the USA World University Games Team in   Bucharest, Romania in 1981.  He was also a member of the USA team AO Ennia Gold Cup Invitational in the Netherlands in 1981, winning 3rd place in the All Around. 

​Chuck was the assistant coach of the University of Nebraska Men’s Gymnastic team from 1991 through 2008. NCAA team champions 1994. NCAA runner-up in 1992, 1993 and 1995. Chuck has been the Head Coach of the University of Nebraska Men’s Gymnastics team from 2009 to the present.​
