Robert “Bob” Cherek, Sr. ​was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2012.

Bob earned three letters in baseball at SHS. He played on SHS summer legion teams which were known as the Red Tops. The Red Tops were runner up to the McDevitt’s American Legion Baseball team in 1939, which won the ALBB National Championship.
