KIm was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 2023.
After graduating South in 1999, she attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a master’s in architectural engineering. She began working for Leo A. Daly in 2002. She is a Vice-President and the National Director of Engineering. After 17 years leading mechanical engineering teams focused on healthcare, Kim was elevated to her current position in 2019 as the national director of engineering. In this role, she’s had the opportunity to further pursue her career-long passion and professional mission for increasing awareness and adoption of sustainability and high-performance design in healthcare and beyond. In 2021, Kim helped form Leo A. Daly’s firm-wide Design Integration Group, which strives to advance an integrated design agenda focused on high-performance building outcomes. This group’s efforts include two major hospital projects: Veterans Hospital in Tulsa OK and St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee, OK. Their goal is to achieve energy conservation, carbon reduction and healthier indoor environments. Kim frequently offers her knowledge to advance the industry via publications, speaking engagements, and more. Pioneering new approaches in building design to slow the spread of COVID and other airborne pathogens, as well as outreach efforts to advance the adoption of Energy Star certification in healthcare facilities. In 2019, Kim received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Durham School of Architectural Engineering at UNL and received the building industry 40 Under 40 Award in 2018 from Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine. |
