Chris was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2004.
Chris Bober lettered 1993, 1994 and 1995 in football and baseball. During college, he also lettered and started all four years (45 consecutive games) at University of Nebraska at Omaha. Chris was two-time All-American in 1998 and 1999; two-time All-Conference in 1998 and 1999; Most Valuable Offensive Lineman (NCC) in 1998 and 1999; he played in the 1999 Division II All-Star game, and was named Most Valuable Lineman in the Nation 1999. Chris signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants in April 2000. He was on the roster for Super Bowl XXXV in 2000, played in 16 games for the Giants in 2001, and started in 16 games at center in 2002 for the Giants. With Kansas City, he saw action in 44 of 48 games through 2006 and was placed on injured reserve for 2007 before retiring in 2008. Bober started the “Chris Bober Building Blocks” Charitable Foundation in 2002. He sponsored the First Annual “Free Football Camp” in 2002 at UNO. In 2019 Chris was inducted into the OPS Athletic Hall of Fame. |
