Sam was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024.

High School:

• Football (3 letters):
  • Started all 3 fullback and inside linebacker
  • Senior year was also kicker and punter
  • On the top 10 career tackle list at SHS
  • Honorable mention state
• Wrestling (3 letters):
  • Qualified state sophomore year and junior year
  • Senior year hurt week before districts was rated No. 1
  • District, South High, Metro, Boystown honors

 
After High School:

• Attended UNO
• Played fullback, Strongside linebacker
• Worked for Miller Beer and Wonder Bread
• Currently works part-time for Papillion-LaVista schools
• He and his wife have 3 daughters and 8 grandkids
• He’s been on 1975 reunion committee since the start.
