Darrell Walton

Class of 1974 - Inducted 2019
Darrell was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2019.

While at South Darrell earned a letter in wrestling, football, and track.  He was track All-State in the 880 relay and All-City in football and the Metro All Star team captain. He was part of the Shrine Bowl team in 1974.
 
Darrell Walton attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1975 after earning a scholarship at the wingback (WB) position. He switched to defensive back for his senior season.
 
After college, Darrell played football for Twin City Cougars, a semi-pro football team out of Marysville, California from 1984 until 1986.
 
After learning commercial construction in Dallas, Texas, Darrell moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he was part of the Iron Workers Union for 21 years until he retired in 2010.
