Nate Sullivan was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2026.

During High School

• Earned three varsity letters in football (1992–95), two in basketball (1993–95), and two in track & field (1994–95).
• Rushed for 1,467 career yards on 237 carries from 1993–95, averaging 6.1 yards per carry.
• Ranks sixth on Omaha South’s all-time career rushing list.
• Delivered a signature football performance during the 1994–95 season, rushing for 335 yards and five touchdowns against Thomas Jefferson.
• Hit a game-winning half-court three-point shot in a Holiday Tournament game at the Civic Auditorium.
• Finished as Nebraska Class A state runner-up in the 110-meter high hurdles in both 1994 and 1995.
• Recorded a time of 14.54 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles at the 1994 State Track Meet at Burke High School, an unofficial Omaha South school record that still stands.

 
After High School

• Earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Nebraska at Omaha as a result of his outstanding high school athletic career.
• Was a four-year starting strong safety for the Mavericks from 1996–99.
• Earned NCAA Division II Preseason All-American honors in 1999.
• Selected First Team All-North Central Conference in 1997 and 1999.
• Received UNO’s Outstanding Rookie Award (1996).
• Received the Leo E. Perry Award for Most Improved Player (1996).
• Earned the George Hepburn Trophy (1999), awarded annually to UNO’s top defensive player.
• Finished his collegiate career ranked third in UNO history with 32 career tackles for loss.
• Finished eighth in UNO history with 12 career sacks.
• Recorded 19 total tackles in the FargoDome during UNO’s 1996 upset victory over No. 1-ranked North Dakota State, one of the most celebrated wins in program history.
• Concluded his playing career by participating in the 1999 NCAA Division II Snow Bowl All-Star Game.
• Graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, emphasizing Public Relations.
• Works as a Retail Investment Broker with Charles Schwab and is pursuing a career as an Investment Advisor.
• Is the proud father of four children.
