Mahoney Fire Sprinkler and its owners, Christine (Macaitis)-1970 & Bob Mahoney-1968 were honored with the Contributor Award at the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats ceremony in 2025.

Bob graduated from South in 1968.  Christine graduated from South in 1970.  They are the founders/owners of Mahoney Fire Sprinkler, Inc.  The company is driven by its namesake with over 50 years of respected experience in the field. Mahoney Fire Sprinkler, Inc. is a third-generation family operated company.

Bob, now retired, began independent operations in Nebraska and Iowa in 1999 and is now the company consultant, Board of Director member, and mentor to many fire sprinkler specialists. Co-founder Christine is the current owner alongside her son President Bob Mahoney III.

Several years ago, the South High Alumni Association was contacted by Bob and Christine. They wished to donate funds to help with costs related to the sports teams at South High.  To date, their generosity has touched the following teams/student athletes:

• Football Team – sponsored pre-game meals.
• Boy’s Soccer Team – sponsored warm-up, practice uniforms
• Boy’s Basketball Team – sponsored travel uniforms.

Their continued support for South High has impacted hundreds of student athletes by supplying them with the fuel they need to compete by donating funds for pre-game meals.  They have also given the students the opportunity to be seen as cohesive teams with matching uniforms to wear to their games, giving them the confidence needed to compete at the level of other schools, while showing their pride for South.  

Bob and Chris have three children, Julie, Jackie, and Bob III.  Bob, the current company President, is married to Shawna (Finley) Mahoney (SHS-1991). The Mahoney’s have 9 grandkids and 7 great grandkids! ​
