Maurice was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2025.

High School:

• Football (3 letters):
  • Played as halfback
  • First SHS sophomore to start varsity football; led the team with 885 yards & 53 pts
  • Leading rusher 1984, 1985, and 1986; SHS Top 10 for rushing
  • Started his senior year on OWH’s list of Top 25 Nebraska HS players
  • Senior Year: All-State Honorable Mention
• Track (3 letters)
  • Qualified for state in the 100m in 1985

After High School:

• Played 4 seasons at University of Kansas on a football scholarship
  • running back; started 1989.
  • Had 74 carries for 287 yards and 19 catches for 132 yards
• Earned Triple Degree (Criminal Justice, Sociology, Human Behavior Management) at UK
• Played 2 years Semi-Pro Football in Dallas, Texas
• Nationally Certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) from Tulsa Technology Center
• Retired Oklahoma Firefighter 2003-2007
• K.C. Church of Christ Minister 2007-2017
• Currently co-leader of the NYC Church of Christ (2,400 members)
• Also works with the NYC FBI office on local events after graduating from NYC FBI Citizen’s Academy
