Mona was inducted into the SHSAA Packer Sports Greats in 2025.

High School:

• Cross-Country/Track:
  • Cross-Country & Track: sophomore, junior, senior years (6 letters)
  • Champion of the Ralston Cross-Country Invite (1985, 1986).
  • Led the cross-country team to 3 straight division championships
  • First and only female to win the Metro cross-country championship (1985).
  • State qualifier: cross-country (1984, 1985-placed 10th), Track (1985, 1986, 1987)
  • First SHS female to earn a medal at the State cross-country 1985 meet (4,000m).
  • One time school record holder in the 1600m, 3200m, and 4x800 relay and member of the school record distance medley relay.

 
After High School:

• Attended Kearney State on sports scholarship
• Experienced an injury while there that ended her running career
• Jack of many trades, aspires to work in home health care
• Mom to two amazing sons
